Reminds me of a comment I once wrote about HN bringing other sites to their knees. If you notice a site is going down because you're firing an LOIC worth of traffic at them, maybe cache it and serve that instead? It would prevent people like JWZ using anti-hotlinking to serve us pictures of testicles.
