At the end of the day, they are people, people are flawed, people abuse power, as the Snowden report showed, which is why checks and balances are required. You can make the false claim that you have 'nothing to hide', but you do, the same as everyone else. Social security number, marriage and divorce papers, loans, conversations with business partners, stock investments, documents of employees and their personal info. Trade agreements, your companies internal infrastructure. Thats all very, very important stuff you would not want people to get their hands on, and if they did could take advantage of you, your family, the people who work for you, or the people you work for.
