I'm so mad at Facebook and why we shouldn't rely on 3rd party auth

I shut my personal Facebook but opened another, with real name albeit no photos or friends, for dev purposes only (app for login via SDK, share button etc).

Yesterday Facebook said my account was suspended due to security reasons and asked me to upload a photo of myself. I'm not sure what good that would be since the account had no photos, but I did, and now when I log in it simply says my photo is being reviewed.

I'm grateful my project is only in development and not production as it shut down all the login and share functions. But I couldn't find anyone to email or contact. How can this happen and why are people so reliant on Facebook for login when there's this obvious risk of shutting you down because you haven't shared enough of your life on your account.
