What sets successful CEOs apart? : Luck

Some truth to that. Then again, you see some who are serially successful.

That brings up another factor that is probably more important than luck: other people's belief that the CEO will be successful.

I wonder how often this is a result of (or at least heavily influenced by) the luck of being born to a certain set of parents / social circles.
