A lot of people complaining about using a brand name here -- isn't Kitkat (the 'K' release) also trademarked?

That was a cross promotion, this probably is as well. Google is an ad company.

Nabisco for one, Nestlé for the other, it looks like. I wonder if there's tension there.

Yes, Oreo is trademarked, and Google has licensed it from Nabisco.
