Ask HN: Ways to use technology to bring education to everyone?

I was thinking the other ways about what technology had the biggest impact on the world and the first thing that came to mind is e.g. farmers in developing nations that could now use their cheap mobile phone to access information about crops on the internet(e.g. Wikipedia). What other ways are there to use technology to get basic education to everyone? How do you solve illiteracy so that they can read the information?

I'd like to hear some ideas from HN on this topic. :)
