Does anyone know what the implementation(s) are for the Ingress resource? Google uses their own custom implementation, I'm curious if Amazon's version will be more portable. [0]

At the very least, Kubernetes natively supports exposing Services (targeting an Ingress controller or otherwise) by configuring AWS ELBs when informed to run on AWS.

All you have to do is using the "type: LoadBalancer" field in your Service's manifest.

I'm assuming Amazon will also write their own custom implementation that controls elbs.
