Ask HN: What can be done to fix Spectre?

So Spectre seems like a pretty serious and deep running bug. Are there any potential fixes in hardware? I'd rather not go back to the dark ages and do without speculative execution or have to JIT everything full with mfences. What possible ISA change fixes could there be for Spectre?
