How to write a draft
Writing a draft is easy. All you have to do is write while you think. Let’s say you have a certain interesting idea in mind. You want to communicate it through an article, a comment, or an email.
Don’t worry about your opening sentence. Don’t think about how you’re going to expand on your thoughts. Just write. If you were in the same room with your audience in real life, and you were asked to talk to them, what would you do? It’d not be pleasant, I’m sure, but you’d talk anyway.
And here’s how it works with writing: The draft is the most important thing. You pause because writing to you is a dignified podium you have to be ready for. It’s not. You don’t pause for a long time in real life while an individual or a group of people are waiting for a response. Same with writing.

Writing gets easier when you start with a draft.
The point of the draft is to write while thinking. For many, writing follows visualizing coherent sentences in their minds, and in most cases, it doesn’t work. It doesn’t work because it’s hard.
Like talking, drafting and thinking should happen simultaneously. The idea is to put everything out there, good or bad, and the rest will follow.
Writing is more effective than talking because you get to think before going public. You can’t pause for a long time in real life while in conversation. Writing, however, gives you that advantage. So don’t be afraid. Write and think; think then edit.
Writing isn’t a dignified podium you have to be ready for; editing is. And that’s a relief.
