Ask HN: What are your hopes for the new Lord of the Rings from Amazon?

I hope they don't leave out Tom Bombadil.

I hope they treat dwarfs with more respect. One of my biggest issues with the movies is how they turned Gimli into a comedy point. Hobbits I can accept. I felt Gimli should have been a tough as nails beast of a character.

Otherwise, hopefully they aim at a slightly older audience like GOT.And most importantly they dont do that thing where you end on a big note ever episode only to quickly dismiss it at the start of the next to repeat again. Its the most annoying thing shows do, probably when management micro-manages/report for ratings.

I hope it is interactive so you get to ‘kill spider’ while you watch.

Good
