Much better to reset this ridiculous situation by tax than by war and guillotine. Being born poor into a society like this is slavery in disguise.

It seems like with a platform like extreme wealth taxation, the result will really speak to the power of money in politics. Will capital successfully defend itself? Will the people win back their place at the table? Or am I looking at this incorrectly?

Class warfare is at least a valid way of looking at this. It may not be the only valid way, but it's a reasonable perspective.

Interestingly, he became a millionaire after running for president last time around, which says something about our political process. Not something good, I think.

If you are going to run for president, you need some sort of residual income to make up for the shortfall of not having a job. Because not only do you not necessarily have a job, your family may not have health insurance either.

The fact that you're running for president doesn't legally prevent you from selling and profiting off a book you wrote. (Nor should it really).

I found this article in 2012 about Barack Obama. He got a $1.9 million advance for "The Audacity of Hope."
