Ask HN: For SaaS founders, how do you implement Drip Campaigns

Hey people! I have a SaaS startup and right now we are trying to create a Drip email campaign. We want this campaign to be event based, meaning that if a user use our product with a specific action, we want to trigger different templates.

So far the only way I found is with Intercom's Smart campaigns. Do you have any cheaper alternatives?
