I tried using this expression:

   ^((?:(?:https?|ftps?):\/\/)|irc:\/\/|mailto:)([\w?!~^\/\\#$%&'()*+,\-.\/:;<=@]*[\w~^\/\\#$%&'()*+,\-\/:;<=@])  

and it seems to fail to visualize it.
