sounds like they used a general purpose infrared thermometer rather than the ones designed for medical use.

We've got an expensive infrared medical thermometer (purchased long before Covid) and it appears to be quite accurate for everyone in our family except me. According to it, I am pretty reliably dead.

He measured your tempurature as 85 degrees and he didn't even call an ambulance for you? Rude.
