To be fair the man page on my nearest ubuntu machine says

       -z, --aslookup
              MISSING

I assume from the context that it does the mtr equiv "traceroute -A" though

-z only shows AS numbers, not names. The point of this is to quickly tell you companies and networks you recognize. Also, mtr requires sudo to run.

This just shows AS number rather than name, though, right?
