Is this a technical, logistical or policy difference to other states in the election?

"It's taking a little longer than normal this year because every active voter received a mail-in ballot this year," explained Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford.

"Processing mail takes time because election officials must ensure that no one has more than one vote," he said.

"And counting ballots has also taken time because we have many safeguards in place to prevent fraud," added Ford, "such as signature verification, unique bar codes and other tools."

Ford says officials knew the ballot counting process would take some time this year and adds that our counting procedures are overseen by a bi-partisan board in each county.

Other states have the same requirements, and many of them have counted their votes.

Why is it taking other swing states so long to count too? It specifically seems to be an issue for swing states.

The other states haven't finished counting either, they have a large margin for one candidate, so the remaining uncounted votes are extremely unlikely to changing the leading candidate.

In swing states however, the probability of uncounted votes changing the leading candidate is much higher, which is why the news is focusing on them.

This is just the impression you get because the swing states are the ones that are close.

All of the states are still counting votes, it just won’t matter in Oklahoma or California. For the president that is. Down ballot elections are still contested everywhere. Illinois which was predicted for Biden moments after the polls closed has a Congressional election that is coming down to provisional votes and this hasn’t been called yet.

This is because USA is a real democracy where every ballot is properly validated before counted to ensure there is no electorial fraud going on. This is in contrast to those of other countries we hear about on the news such as Belarus, Venezuela and Bolivia.

Indeed we all count on CNN an will not watch any of Michael Moore's documentaries especially those for me easy to manipulate counting devices. Also Santa is coming in few weeks.
