Ask HN: What are the recommended resources to learn more about networking?

I am looking to divide the traffic of my home network into 2 or more subnets and I want the ability to define firewall rules between each subnet and the ability to access anything outside of the LAN.

I have done some investigating into my company's network and I want to have some of these "enterprise" features at home. I want to separate the traffic of my home lab (which may include a honey pot) from my personal computing devices. Even if my home lab becomes compromised, the attacker can only access those servers and leaves my personal computers safe.
