Apple apps on macOS Big Sur bypass firewall and VPN connections

It's been a while since I've used macOS but its firewall is one of the worst I've ever used, it might as well not even exist. It lets everything through by default, prevents you from restricting Apple software and doesn't include any kind of cafe mode for hotels and airports so everyone's devices are always visible and communicating.

The article is from Oct 20th. Do we know if it is still the case?

According to this recent tweet and discussion, yes it is: https://twitter.com/patrickwardle/status/1327034191523975168

Exactly. This article doesn't even take the latest beta into account, let alone the GM.

This isn't a helpful article to post the day after the final release of an OS, especially not without putting the word "beta" in the title.

Just flag this post so it stops appearing, it doesn't provide any new information since that last HN discussion.
