Ask HN: Will fake news become so bad that newspapers will make a comeback?
With fake news ever more prevalent, will people turn back to old school newspapers as source of truth?
Craigslist killed the newspaper industry.
I don't think fake news will kill Craigslist. I therefore don't think that newspapers will be making a comeback any time soon.
Plenty of people still consider "old school" publications, often in their online version, as credible sources while totally ignoring social media noise...
Newspapers and other publications might make a comeback as physical media if it turns out in hindsight to be easier to make money in print than online, but I have no idea whether that's even likely. It would be ironic, though.
