"remote", right. i.e. not closely inspected.

I don't buy it. If I was tasked with convincingly burning £1 Million cash, with a budget, by definition, of over £1 Million; I think it could bring it in for £100K, by spending some money on fakes that look ok from a distance, when on fire in low-res video at night, with a layer of real cash over it.

Either that, or supervised disposal of counterfeits.

All the financial incentives are in the direction of faking it.

The title is incredibly interesting but the reality seems like an edgy band wanted to do something edgy. It is pretty curious that the received so much public backlash that they just stopped talking about it.
