I filled IRS feedback to form 1120 got no response Apr 3, 2021, 5:54 PM got just Robotic Non-Response 1 from helpdesk@freefilealliance.org: Apr 3, 2021, 6:30 PM Robotic Non-Response 1 from phishing@irs.gov
After lengthy email exchange with TaxAct I got sentences "Also, the IRS FREE FILE is for individual taxpayers, not businesses." or "if you use the IRS Free File | Internal Revenue Service product look up tool, you will see there is no category for business taxes" to which I replied If IRS or Free Filing Alliance actually meant that only individual taxpayers are eligible for free federal tax filing. They would simply clearly said so by using word “individual taxpayer” everywhere they used word “taxpayer” in sentences defining eligibility for free filing."
The best would be calling IRS and Free Filing Alliance by phone due to responding to emails. But mine engliish. sux.
Will some brave soul rise to the occasion?
In general, an LLC with no revenue and no deductions or credits doesn’t need to file an IRS return. That’s true of LLCs taxed as sole proprietorships and as partnerships, but not for people who have elected to have their LLC taxed as a corporation. Corporations must file regardless of activity.
Here’s a few places to start: https://www.irs.gov/faqs/small-business-self-employed-other-..., https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/business-taxes/discussion/...
A corporation, and particularly a C corporation, is the most formal type of US business entity. For example, most of the publicly-traded US companies are C corporations. I believe the rough Slovakia equivalent would be a private A.S., or at least more formal than a J.S.A. That’s why the regulations assume that you have some amount of capital and that $109 is not a barrier. LLCs, sole proprietorships, and S corporations exist for smaller companies and don’t have as many filing requirements. Many or most startups begin as LLCs or S corporations, especially those which don’t raise outside capital from the very beginning.
