Can it blow up when there are so many people using it for money laundering? That’s a pretty big ocean of cash propping up its value.

I think Jamie is going for the old social short to hedge the financial long.

Although for a billionaire like him the loss of social reputation if he's wrong might hurt more than say some extra 100M if his long financial bet on BTC turns out to be right.

Tesla's recent financials certainly show one thing. Tulips or not, there's money to be made in Bitcoin.

Nobody has ever argued that it's impossible to make money in a Ponzi scheme, just that it's not a long-term money-making proposition.
