This sounds really scary actually. It's like a big oil company lobbying with a government for 'initiatives enhancing environment preservation'.

Just like we have green-washing I feel like with Google (FLoC)[1] and Facebook doing a 'regulatory capture' [0] of W3C and such doing something like 'privacy-washing'.
