App Store stopped over $1.5B in suspect transactions in 2020

As of 2021, the total Apps on iOS App Store is ~2 Million. And Apple rejected 1 million problematic new apps in 2020 alone.

Ever since the Qualcomm case, I only pay attention to actual evidence and deposition in court. Literally every thing Apple ( Tim Cook ) said in the public was either lying by omission or purposely bending the truth for their benefits. And before anyone jumps in about Steve Jobs being the same, the two are very very different.

So I think those numbers needs to be taken with some healthy dose of cynicism.

I imagine this data is being shared as a PR move in the Apple vs. Epic battle, as well as the upcoming EU regulations changes.

From Apple’s own newsroom, the advocates of gatekeeping app installs, is this propaganda to support the app gatekeeping dogma?

Perhaps this will put a stop to arguments of the form:

“Apple let this one scam through, therefore the App Store does nothing to protect users and should be opened.”
