Airships for city hops could cut flying’s CO2 emissions by 90%

I’m interested in how these perform in bad weather, or even just strong winds. Presumably they’ll get knocked around more than aeroplanes due to their bigger profile?

So whilst the figures for CO2 emission reduction might be true, it won't have a real impact until they can scale this up.

If the Hindenburg hadn’t been painted with a dope that was essentially rocket fuel, chances are pretty good we’d have hydrogen airships. All that bright flame and accelerated burning was from the skin.

What type of gas are they planning to use? The world is running out of helium and hydrogen has it's own problems - difficult to contain, embrittlement, not to mention Hindenburg.
