Already old news as Lufthansa is allowed to enter Russian airspace again:

It’s a retaliatory tit-for-tat move.

> "Due to the reciprocal practice, the federal aviation authority also did not issue any further permits for flights operated by Russian airlines as long as authorizations are pending on the Russian side," the German Transport Ministry told AFP news agency.

While I absolutely condemn how Belarus handeld the diversion of said Ryanair flight, I am not so sure it's a sensible idea to poke the bear (Russia) even further.

I have no idea what the endgame of Putin and his vassals might look like, I do have a feeling that setting up another USSR is not enough for them.

Russia made the first move by not permitting Lufthansa flights for the month of June. Germany only answered.

Russia just permitted Lufthansa flights again, though, so it's old news.

I saw that, thank you. But the whole tit-for-tat startet with the flight I mention.

Russia wasn't part of the original dispute, so it's Russia poking EU and seeing if they will concede.

Can't allow bullies to bully.

The "bear" ("jackal" would be more appropriate zoomorphism for putin's/chekist's russia) always has been as angry/vile as you can imagine. Poking it would result in change of rhetoric for sure but barely anything else.

WTF, has Hacker News turned into Reddit now?

Cry much?

Every time I watch Car SOS.
