The Cryptocurrency Movement Is Destroying Itself

As a casual crypto observer, I can’t tell if this person is severely underestimating the potential of a crypto ecosystem or just hateful and untrusting of any technological change or completely correct about their complaints. Some thoughts:

1. The distribution of ownership complained about here seems better than in the non crypto world.

2. This is a new technology and it may evolve to solve all its growing pains.

3. Volatility makes it difficult for crypto to be used for more than speculation. Countries with worse paper currencies may find them useful but in other places I feel like it’ll remain a niche investment opportunity unless a solution to this chicken and egg problem is figured out.

Understanding the bias of the author is important: He is an optimistic guy who dislikes capitalism and has been writing some posts critizing crypto for a while. Seems to be someone focused on macro economy.
