Google shuts down unified health division as chief leaves company

With the advantage of hindsight, I now greatly regret writing the documents that influenced Jeff Dean into making a Google Health Research group. What I have realized is that he is not the right leader for Google Research and Google proper will never be able to do consumer business (android, youtube) and also be able to do trusted Health Research.

What a shame.

Dean is an amazing technologist, does not mean he is a leader in the sense that an organization needs. I wish he played this his strengths and left the leadership to others. I don't see the value of putting everything under Dean and hoping for an amazing outcome.
