Ask HN: Who Uses Hacker News?

I'm wondering who the types of people are that view/use HN on a daily basis?

My names's Tim, I'm a product designer that also enjoys front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JS, Svelte, React).

edit: If there are other posts related to this question, I'd really appreciate people sharing them here as well? thanks.

It's pretty much just me, you, and about 73,244 bots. And I have my doubts about you, now that I think about it.

Haha I can assure you that I am not a bot, although I'm sure that's exactly what a bot would be trained to say?

I tried finding previous posts related to who the user base of HN is, but had no luck so I thought I'd ask the question myself.

I'm a software developer and I come to HN to keep up with new ideas and trends etc. Often see things on here days before it becomes a thing on news outlets.

Generally I like to skim through articles and see whats relevant etc.

I'm Nigel an NZ Industrial and agricultural landscape architect and ecologist.

I came to HN to learn more about CLI, perl and text manipulation and found some interesting people and sub-communities outside of tech.

The kind of people that use Firefox with noscript and/or uBlock Origin, privacy badger, and similar.

Edit: And/or w3m and/or links or lynx.

university student in the US studying economics. Just keep up to date.
