This reminds me of this guy who thought he could "hack" chess with a very similar method and beat Magnus Carlsen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFNv-FJFGTg (it does not go well)

As much as I like computer chess you will get better improvement if you just play against players rated ~300 better than you.

Wow, that video is pretty low key about how rediculous that guy's plan was. He had a month to learn chess and instead played around with machine learning algorithms then got destroyed. Shaking my head.

not to mention that guy explicitly said he didn't memorize any positions until 3 hours before the match. This is roughly zero prep?
