This is recent. My Dell XPS 15 9570 (Ubuntu) drains the battery like crazy and heats up when hibernating.

Until recently, it hibernated fine. I suspect a firmware update. Is anyone else having this with this particular model, and have you managed to fix it?

On ubuntu 20.04, I started having problems with battery going flat on same model when I thought I had shutdown laptop. I have just yesterday disabled systemd suspend, which I hope fixes problem.

I have another model of Dell. I updated the firmware and see similar strange problems with battery.
