Just in case anyone wanted to be sure this wasn't just another blood sport before clicking:

> They are precious enough that their owners never let them fight to the death, and injuries are rare.

So, better than dog fighting, certainly.

Not going to link because it’s pretty horrific but Japanese Bug Fights is similar but definitely a blood sport.

I'm sure dogs (and roosters) can feel more pain than crickets, but I think the fights are often fatal[1].

I anticipated cricket stumps and cricket bats, an all-in brawl at the wickets, and umpires wearing white.

The first rule of cricket club - no one talks about cricket club.

Came here to read stories of cricket fans getting into fisticuff over T20. But no --this was not that. Disappointed. ;-)

This wasn’t what I expected it to be :)

Nothing about Brockian Ultra-Cricket?

This article had a really odd focus on gender.

yea its a bit jarring. I mean, they evolve this behavior to court females. Its the same for hercules beatles, cock fights and bettas.

Lol, my naive mind thought it was about India vs Pakistan cricket match.

The timing on this!

Saw this after a heartbreaking defeat my home team suffered in the sport Cricket. The article turned out to be something else entirely. A bit of a shock, and a pleasant surprise.
