Original Mozilla founder and author call out the project for accepting crypto

I think jwz is being ridiculous here. Mozilla is accepting donation payment in crypto via a payment processor. They convert to dollars. It’s like hating Mastercard or visa. Just a payment gateway dude, chill out.

Can someone explain to me why they are mad? Is it because Mozilla is asking for donations on Twitter? Or it it because Mozilla is accepting crypto?

I don’t think a company accepting crypto as a form of donation is a bad thing tbh. Seems like they’re just trying to allow more people to donate.

>Or it it because Mozilla is accepting crypto?

Sure seems like crypto is the problem with the "planet-incinerating Ponzi grifters" comment. Some people are opposed to crypto because it uses more energy than other electronic payments.

"more" is a little mild, one can probably power tens of millions of CC transactions with the power a single BTC block wastes

It does seem to me that Mozilla have absolutely flubbed many, many things. If they are into Crypto, then they are stupid for doing so.
