There are a few exceptions and/or borderline cases. Press releases are one. The best third-party article on a story is usually better than a corporate press release.

Btw I realize that it can be frustrating when the guidelines aren't applied in the most obvious way, but they aren't mechanical rules, and there are tons of edge cases we've learned how to deal with over the years. The intention is always to foster the intended spirit of intellectual curiosity, not to have a strictly rule-bound system.
