How to Find a Technical Co-Founder?

I’m finding it really difficult to find a suitable technical co-founder or CTO. Being bootstrapping every penny saved could be used to provide better infrastructure for clients and on marketing, so need the person joining as CTO to be compensated over equity.

Could the reason it's 'really difficult' be that you don't have anything to offer these guys except high level of risk not matched by the reward?

They don't have to give you the time of day in the current market... they don't even have to give their current employer the time of day.

Being a more cto type of guy myself, i have similar experience of finding a decent ceo cofounder.

Most of the people i’ve met have no experience in the domain, neither marketing skills or quality vision that would motivate you.
