A Headless CMS with a modern editor like medium?

I'm searching for a Headless CMS to connect to Next.js. I have tried some platforms like contentful, strapi but none of them have a modern WYSIWYG editor like the one used in Medium.com

Could you suggest a headless CMS with a simple publish workflow, free, and rich modern WYSIWYG editor? What's your experience?

You can also explore Webiny CMS https://www.webiny.com/serverless-cms It's WYSIWYG editor is similar to Medium and currently offers a basic publishing workflow. By the way I am one of the project authors, and a quick update, our team is also working on advance publishing workflow.

You could use WordPress as the CMS (it's an excellent WYSIWYG editor) and then publish the site as a static replica using one of the tools and solutions available for turning WP into a static site generator, like Strattic https://www.strattic.com.

WordPress is pretty good until you start adding loads of content because it's built-in API is REST. You can get a lot more out of a plugin which adds a GraphQL layer to WordPress, but I have experienced issues with that before because GraphQL is strict on types whereas WordPress (based on PHP) is dynamic, so if there's a type mismatch (say for example someone has a number as a slug, where elsewhere it's a string) the GraphQL layer can break unexpectedly.

This title should conventionally be prefixed with "Ask HN:"

I can't reply to your comment (I'm not sure why it's dead) but there's a time limiting on editing a head-line (and maybe a limit based on up-votes and/or comments). Since you're new, I don't know if you can edit at all (it's been a long time since I joined).

One thing I can tell you is that you should join the community and participate for maximal benefit.

Take a look at Ghost CMS

Ghost's editor is probably the best I've seen. However if you're looking for content types or fields outside of what they provide its a challenge to add them because the CMS is written in EmberJS. As a straight-up blog (and membership platform) it does its job very well but I'm not inclined to use it beyond that.
