why is hiring/firing posts so popular here? As an indie dev it's kind of annoying to me, this was supposed to be an entrepreneurial community rather than a place for managers to vent every afternoon.
The HN community is way broader than just YC and their companies though.
With respect, i think it isn't and that the pendulum has swung too far on the other side. It is more likely that you will find purists who will attack anyone who wants to "make money on the internet" , to the point that people no longer post their projects here. E.g. it is impossible to state that you want to monetize your project via advertising and not get attacked. And yet the people who make those attacks overwhelmingly work in ads companies.
And when you do work at Big Co, there's a whole lot of Dilbert-esque stuff like this. Hence the prevalence of this type of material.
