The Green New Deal Project

The actual name is "The REAL Green New Deal" (capitalization theirs.)

Hijacking the name of something that already exists by prefixing it with "REAL" activates my spidey-sense. As does, you know, this. Emphases mine.

> As we embark on the transition away from fossil fuels, it's crucial to understand what a renewable energy regime will look like and what that will mean for the new world.

> Contrary to the mainstream myth, what are being called "renewables" are anything but, and neither they nor actual renewable sources of energy can deliver anywhere close to the quantity or quality of energy as fossil fuels.

And this.

> Climate change isn't the problem – overshoot is.

I mean, climate change is obviously caused by something, and that something needs to be addressed. Nobody is arguing otherwise.

The phrase alone suggests some serious hijacking.
