There shouldn't just be a volume setting

I'm tired of fighting the TV shows and movies I'm watching. Constantly turning them down when they're too loud and down up when they're too quite.

There should be a max volume setting/button and a min volume setting/button. The sound of any given piece of media should be normalised such that it fits within your desired range.

May also need a cut off volume to deal with static being amplified to your minimum.

There may be a more clever way of dealing with this and other associated issues. Neural Nets? Just felt like I needed to put this idea out in the world.

EDIT: I know this already exists. I'm saying it should be as common as our current method of volume.
