DART’s Final Images Prior to Impact

I was surprised that there were no motion artifacts in the images, and deduced it must be done with a global shutter ... sure enough I was right.

"At the focal plane is a 2560 by 2160 pixel, panchromatic, front-side illuminated complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor, with digital output, global shutter, and low read noise."

Has an incomplete image transmission ever been such an awesome proof of success?

Also the prior complete image shows such a lot of cool structures.

Oh that was a tearjerker. But Cassini had an incredible lifetime of doing so many great things, while DART says just “hello! ... YOLOooooo!”
