The DoJ won't indict Trump. That would be a bad precedent for future Presidents. It would set the stage for prosecuting presidents after they leave office. In today's split USA, that would be a disaster. Nobody would want to leave office, which is a precedent Trump set.

Lots of empty assertions. Why generalize and imagine that a precedent is set. Trump committed crimes, he should be charged. Anybody who did the same should be charged. Hem hawing about polarization makes no sense.

What's the argument, crime is ok because if we prosecute crime then the other side will prosecute crime too, but they'll prosecute irrelevant crime and so politics will be broken. So instead all crime is ok because we need politics with crime ????

I can't tell what this means, seems like you are just inventing intentions for intuitions and then quoting individuals and conflating the two.
