Given the banks' cautious approach, Mastercard's strong interest in cryptocurrency is groundbreaking.

With the value of cryptocurrencies fluctuating so much, it's natural for Mastercard to want to provide services that make using them easier and safer. I believe it is a wise decision on their part, and it will be interesting to see how this program evolves.
