Shotgun House

How odd to see on hacker news, in New Orleans, they are just called shotgun, not cottage, shack, etc...

For example, "we live in a shotgun in the Treme." saying shotgun shack would be considered an odd phrase here.

“And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack”

Thanks for this! Always was curious about that lyric but never took the initiative to look it up.
