Thanks for the correction.
If this is true the post should probably be deleted or the title corrected to reflect the truth
Came here to say this.
Not directing this at OP but seems like someone's just trying to stoke the flames even more to fuel the Elon vs. Apple debacle that's been popular today.
It wasn't until this whole "Apple might remove Twitter from the App Store" noise started that I realized iOS had full PWA support. If Apple does boot Twitter Elon might just enlighten a lot of app developers that they could be paying 0% to Apple instead of 30% and still get a rich app experience.
Oh, I would like myself a massive push for PWA apps!
It doesn't. Developers build native apps for push notifications. Nothing else gives higher engagement and retention.
I was surprised when the only way to purchase the new Twitter Blue was through Apple. I tried to pay on the Twitter website so that Apple wouldn’t take 1/3 (I’m one of the few who is excited about what Musk is doing) but the only way to pay was with an Apple sub. Which is odd because I was a Twitter Blie subscriber before and paid through the website, so I know the infrastructure was there. As I recall, they used Stripe.
iOS16 will also be adding push notification capabilities for Safari/browser apps.
