Can AI write decent book reviews?

Unless I’ve missed it, I think the author didn’t use the actual books as input, and instead, just the titles. So, being a language model, GPT probably based it’s own book reviews on existing book reviews of the same title.
My own experience with ChatGPT and books is that, much like its math abilities, it does not produce dependable answers with regard to the content of the book. It sometimes attributes things to different characters, gives wrong summaries of plots, etc.
Being a language model, it is really good at generating coherent answers that is in the style of what you are looking for, and it is a lot of fun to play with. But you shouldn’t rely on it for any task where veracity is important.
