The anthrax event in the USSR was determined to be of natural origin until the fall of the USSR, when the investigator was provided with actual data pertaining to the release from the lab in the city in question.

We can only hope that someone in Wuhan preserved the data as well. Now we just need to wait for the fall of the CPP.
