The problem with these summary tools is that the AI doesnt actually know what is salient to a human. I have used many such tools and each time it misses out items which I thought where very important. So I end up running the process multiple times and manually editing to get a summary that I am happy conveys the content of the article. If you use these summary tools one time then you don't know if you are missing key info or not.

What I would need is a chrome extension that turns a YouTube video into a short text summary. Would be so useful for tutorials, etc, or simply get to the point quickly.

Tried a couple different articles and got "No summary. Sorry, but we were not able to summarize the following page."

Not sure if the tool is down or what would break the functionality of it on a normal 1,000+ word article.

Can you trust the 'AI' to accurately summarise articles which go against its bias? The answer here is of course 'no, you can not'. These models are biased (e.g. ChatGPT: [1,2]) both by the training sets used in their creation [3] as well as by specific interventions by their creators. Ask such a model to summarise an article which goes against its bias and it will downplay or twist its content while it will boost whatever fits is bias.
