Ask HN: Guides on Venture Capital and Seed Funding

Hello, I'm developing my first serious start-up and am going to apply to incubators soon. As I believe it'll give my nnfinished start-up a much needed boost.

I was wondering if there are any guides any of you on the ins and outs of Venture Capital and Seed funding?

As I'm quite the novice at this sort of thing these guides would have to cover the basics. For example terminology like "Vesting" eludes me and concepts like the ramifications of trading capital for equity aren't fully understood.

Thanks.
