Ask HN: Early childhood education of your kids

I was wondering how people on HN educate their young children. I’m interested in your experience and recommendations.

I’m thinking about things like: do you send your kids to day care, pre school, prek etc. ? At what age? Did it follow any education philosophy like Montessori. Did you homeschool your kids? Any programs or books you recommend?

Spongebob Squarepants! (not the atrocious post Hillenburg Kamp Koral)

I am serious, funny, moral, addresses social issues, witty. The show is perfect. You push "educational" shows on your kid when they are too young and it will turn them off.

My kid liked Story Bots for a bit. My basic gist is, don't push academics but get them thinking abstractly, plenty of that in Spongebob.
