US shipyards can't build destroyers fast enough

> everybody’s struggling with skilled labor

Translation: We're not willing to pay enough to offset the fact that we will pull your budget sometime within the next 5 years, lay you off and hang you out to dry.

The government outsourced everything so now they can't force anybody to do anything they aren't willing to pay through the nose for. Whoops.

It's a capacity issue. The companies need to build the infrastructure to support the higher orders.

I'm sure if you handed the money to Austal or a similar shipbuilder with a yard in the US they'd figure it out.

Building more DDGs (designs which can't shoulder) is not likely to be that useful in the vicinity of the Spratlys.

We need more cannon fodder for chinese anti-ship missile boats!

Somewhere someone is laughing in Chinese.

"But everybody’s struggling with skilled labor."

Oh look it's the boomer motto again.

>Am I out of touch? No, it's the kids who are wrong.
